Eason Flier 1/5/18

Eason Flier 1/5/18

Mark your calendars for Eason’s Winter Carnival on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Prairieview School.  It will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. This year’s carnival will feature carnival games, a basket raffle, a balloon artist, face painting, and other exciting events!  You won’t want to miss it!  Watch for more information from the Eason PTO regarding on-line ticket purchasing, volunteer opportunities and basket raffle donations. See you there!EASON NIGHT AT THE FIELDHOUSE!Tuesday, January 16, 2018 will be Eason Night at the Waukee basketball games against Johnston High School at the Waukee High School Fieldhouse!  The evening will begin with volunteers from Eason’s chorus singing the National Anthem prior to the girl’s game at approximately 6:15 p.m.  At halftime of the girl’s game, Eason students will participate in a fun activity on the court.  Eason students get into the game free with a paid adult admission.

Eason third, fourth and fifth graders will be taking the Iowa Assessments on February 6, 7 and 8.  It is important for students to get plenty of sleep this week, eat well-balanced meals, including a hearty breakfast.  You may send water with your student to stay hydrated during the testing periods.  We are also hoping that routine appointments can be rescheduled to avoid missing class during these three days.

Waukee Community School District (WCSD) families:  you’re invited to join us on February 24, 2018 for the Waukee Foundation’s Annual Dinner & Auction at Noah’s Event Center in West Des Moines.  This energetic, informal night out is the perfect way to show your support for our growing school district. A wide variety of food and beverages will be served as you make your way through our display of silent auction items. Towards the end of the evening, an exciting live auction will be sure to create some fun memories!

Since 1996 the Foundation has contributed more than $500,000 to the WCSD by providing grants for innovative technology for classrooms, professional development and continuing education for our teachers and faculty, as well as donating 30% of it’s net proceeds to the Scholarship Fund to graduating seniors which has granted more than $300,000 in scholarships in the last five years alone. The Foundation’s primary fundraiser is the Annual Dinner & Auction. This year we need YOUR help to continue to support our rapidly growing school district!

For more information about the WCS Foundation or about the Dinner & Auction please contact Gina Campos at waukeefoundation@waukeeschools.org or (515) 493-6361.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Students will go outside for recess when the WIND CHILL is above ZERO.  Please be sure to send students’ winter outerwear with them on days when this is a possibility.  Snowpants and boots are REQUIRED if students wish to play in the snow.  If you need help acquiring these items, our guidance counselors can help you.  Please remember heavy coats, mittens/gloves, hats, scarves, snowpants and boots!  Our Eason students love to play in the snow!

Box Tops for Education

Please continue to collect Box Tops for Education and turn them in to the Eason office.  It is surprising how these accumulate and are exchanged for cash which is used to supply Eason with new technology and educational programs.
