New Boundary Updates
The Waukee Community School District is in the process of working with demographers to deliver a new boundaries map for the District. This year, Waukee CSD will only produce one proposed map that meets its goals and positions the District for long-term success.
School Board Decision Timeline
- Oct. 9: Kick-off process to create the proposed map
- Nov. 6: Recommendation presented to the Waukee CSD School Board
- Nov. 27: Final map approved by the Board
Priorities
Throughout this process, the District is focused on three main priorities:
- Create and maintain a feeder for our 6-8, 9, and 10-12 buildings with long-term sustainability
- Balance our elementary schools in terms of class size, anticipated enrollment, and student demographics
- Balance the NWHS/WHS feeders with the same considerations
Waukee CSD is also creating the map with elementary school #12 in mind, so limited additional changes to boundaries occur when that facility opens.
Check this page for updates throughout the process.
